20 Greek universities join Koha

Dataly (Greece) and BibLibre (France) are very proud to announce that the ILSAS network has chosen Koha and Vufind as their new ILS and discovery software.
In the next 18 months, 20 universities will migrate to Koha, using it both as a union catalog and local ILS.
Each university will also propose a public interface using vufind, and the ILSAS network will also provide a global public interface with the union catalog.

“This project is a great boost for the adoption of open source software in Greek libraries. We are very happy to have been selected by the ilsas consortium, proving that Dataly is a major local player. Being Open Source, we can develop feature needed to be sure that local requirement will be fulfilled, including Greek language support. Cooperating with BibLibre is a great opportunity for us to be successful on a large project like this one” said George Veranis, Dataly CEO.

“BibLibre has managed many projects in the previous 17 years, including consortium ones. But this one is, by far, the largest, it is a very exciting challenge for our technical team: we will deploy a complete infrastructure, and develop many tools in order to manage the union catalog: each library will be able to catalog local documents as well as ‘union’ documents in a fluent and easy process. We are thrilled to cooperate with Dataly, a company perfectly knowing local needs” said Paul Poulain, BibLibre CEO.
