Did you know? Let librarian override Koha’s check out limits

In this new Did you know, we will see how to let librarians overstep Koha’s limits on holds.

To start you just have to connect on the Koha Staff Interface (username: test and password: test) and then go to Koha Administration> Global system preferences > Circulation.

Once in the Circulation area of the system preferences, the interesting preferences for today are AgeRestrictionOverride, AllowFineOverride, AllowNotForLoanOverride, AllowRenewalLimitOverride et  AllowTooManyOverride.

These 5 system preferences allow you to let the librarian overstep limits about holds fixed in Koha during the set up. They will thus be able to decide to exceptionnaly allow a patron to check out a book even if he is at his maximum checkout level or to let a patron checkout a book that is usually not for loan.
