AFI OPAC 2.0 becomes Bokeh. First visible result of the merger between AFI and BibLibre, the latter joined the development Bokeh that becomes a community Open Source software.
Bokeh is at the same time:
- an enriched OPAC through its many connectors,
- an easy to administer CMS that allow to create complete websites,
- a content aggregator originating from external sources,
- a digital library.
It brings together in a single application features from 4 software that make it the first documentary portal 4G.
Bokeh is also evolving functionally with the imminent arrival of new modules:
- management activities and booking rooms especially useful for educational research libraries. Users can register online for various activities offered by the library.
- federated search,
- pre-registration online.
A large number of additional features have been added in the development plan set by the new team that welcomes all contributions.
Present in several functional areas , the French Agency Computer made a spectacular breakthrough in the world of software libraries with OPAC 2.0 and AFI- AFI- Nanook . Founded in 1981 , AFI makes a total turnover of more than € 4 million in 2013 ( including 1.5 million Euros in the library sector ) with 60 people.
Provider of software for libraries since 1989 , AFI develops free software since 2004 AFI for the transition to the free license is a philosophical choice . “We are as committed to freedom of dissemination and access to the knowledge open software . AFI is the origin of the initiative of the Charter recovery data FULBI which guarantees each library the ability to export data management software when it wishes . ”

BibLibre was the major player in the implementation of Koha in France and Europe. Efforts for the development of Koha has enabled it to become a reference software in major French and European institutions. With this experience , BibLibre wants to invest in the same way on Bokeh to accelerate its development and make this community software reference on the international scene .
